Job Vacancy: Community Liaison Officer
(CLO). Closes 7Jun2020. Please note that all current CLO's must

The DMCA invites current CLOs and new
applicants to apply for the role of Community Liaison Officer
(CLO).
CLO Primary
Role: The primary role of the CLO is to support
and promote safety and security throughout the community. This
is done through partnership with law enforcement and other
stakeholders including the general community. Each CLO will be
responsible for their particular community or space however they
must work towards the greater safety and security of the general
public as instructed. CLOs support homogenous communities through
promotion of tolerance, understanding and good citizenship. They
also support law enforcement. Other duties are also expected of the
CLO's as directed by the Acting Secretary for Multicultural Affairs
or his delegate.
About the CLO
Project: The CLO project is a
community based project run by the Department of Multicultural
Affairs that focuses on safety and security in our community. The
aim of the project is to promote a homogenous and multicultural
society through good citizenship and community
strengthening.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
·
Be 18 years or above
·
Have a valid driver's licence
·
Be able to communicate in English and Nauruan
·
Be able to work in a team environment
·
Be able to work with the community including the refugee and
asylum seeker community
·
Be willing to work with law enforcement and other
stakeholders promoting safety and security in the
community
Duties include, but are
not limited to:
·
Reporting any issues concerning safety and security to law
enforcement
·
Supporting efforts as authorised to promote safety and
security within the community
·
Identifying and reporting potential risk to safety and
security within the community and coordinating between stakeholders
on relevant prevention measure
·
Providing assistance to law enforcement in ensuring public
safety and security
·
Participating in community engagement on safety and security
programs, measures and projects
·
Preparing and maintaining incident logs and
reports
·
Providing first responder assistance in incidences where
appropriate
·
Assisting law enforcement on relevant safety and security
intelligence
·
Providing support in community based programs and projects
with the aim of preventing crime and disorder and promoting public
safety
·
Any other duties as determined by the Acting Secretary for
Multicultural Affairs or delegate
