Australian Immigration Minister
Scott Morrison to visit Nauru
Australia's Minister for
Immigration and Border Control Scott Morrison is due to arrive in
Nauru this evening (8 Oct) on his first trip to the country as
minister.
Mr Morrison's flight is expected to
arrive in to Nauru at approximately 5.30pm (Nauru time) where he
will be met by senior officials from the Nauru Government and the
Australian High Commission as well as staff from the department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The minister is expected to visit
the RoN Hospital shortly after arriving, before attending a dinner
reception hosted by His Excellency the President Baron Waqa.
Mr Morrison's program for tomorrow
(Wednesday, 9 Oct) is expected to begin with a visit to the
Regional Processing Centre (RPC) sites for several hours before a
meeting with Nauru's Minister for Justice and Border Control Hon
David Adeang.
The Australian delegation will
depart later that afternoon (9 Oct).
