In today's update, the accumulative
statistics as at end of Friday, 8 July, are as follows:

45 new cases

4,170 active cases

374 tests done yesterday (Fri, 8 July)

13,914 tests done this outbreak

2,238 cases recovered

8 cases admitted to the hospital Acute Care Unit with an additional
3 carers
- 4 patients with moderate condition
- 4 patients with mild or no COVID symptoms but have underlying
comorbidities
All patients are closely monitored
and will be discharged once cleared by doctors

0 critical cases

0 ventilation

296 houses on lockdown with 2,728 residents.

51 occupants in the quarantine facility (Budapest)
Yesterday's test results equate to
12 per cent or approximately one in eight results being positive,
further decreasing the ratio of positive cases. Overall tests
collected this outbreak has also decreased to 32 per cent.
Nauru's National COVID-19 Taskforce
will advise of any changes in protocols or restrictions, if any,
however in the meantime COVID is still a serious illness and the
outbreak continues to be monitored.

a mask, keep your distance and keep houses well ventilated.
Sixty seven children aged five to
11 received their first dose yesterday (Fri, 8 July), taking the
total to 1,029. There are 2,555 children in this age population yet
only 40 per cent of this group have received their first dose.
There are a number of children in
home isolation and have not been tested but parents and guardians
are encouraged to bring children who are able to get vaccinated
sooner rather than later.
