President Waqa receives Israel ambassador-designate
The Ambassador-designate to Nauru
Mr Tibor Shalev Schlosser presented his credentials to His
Excellency President Baron Waqa today 22 February.
On arrival at the government office Mr Schlosser met with
Secretary for Foreign Affairs & Trade Michael Aroi before being
received by the Commissioner of Police for the playing of the
national anthems and inspection of the Nauru Police Force Guard of
Honour.
Mr Schlosser was then escorted to the Office of the President for
the presentation of credentials.
The Ambassador said he is honoured to be the ambassador of Israel
to the Republic of Nauru and looks forward to the challenge.
A private meeting ensued following the presentation of the Letter
of Credence and gift by Ambassador Schlosser.
Mr Schlosser continues courtesy calls on Speaker of Parliament
Cyril Buramen, Cabinet Ministers, the Australian High Commissioner,
Taiwan Ambassador, Secretary for Health, over the next two
days.
President Waqa will host a dinner reception in honour of Mr
Schlosser the same evening, 22 February.
During the Ambassadors six day visit, he had the opportunity to
visit the Culture office, escorted on a tour of the phosphate
mining by the Nauru Rehabilitation Corporation, enjoyed a fishing
charter, and toured the Republic of Nauru hospital.
The Ambassador arrived on 19 February and will depart 24
February.
