first quarter
Nauru Police Force (NPF) statistics
for the first quarter recorded 618 offences under crime, traffic
and vehicle impounds categories.
Minister for NPF Lionel Aingimea
reported the figures at the April sitting of parliament.
Crime offences constituting
assault, brawl, break and enter, cyber crime, property damage,
domestic violence, illicit drug use/possession, causing serious
harm, sexual offence, theft and burning of the national flag,
totalled 175 for the quarter.
Traffic offences including
accidents, dangerous and reckless driving, refusing to comply at
traffic check points, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving
without a helmet, no valid driver's licence, and failure to carry
or produce driver's licence, totalled 332 for the same period.
There were 111 vehicles impounded
for the first quarter.
