UN resident coordinator pays
courtesy call on President Adeang
The Resident Coordinator of the UN
Multi-Country office for the Northern Pacific and to Nauru Jaap van
Hierden paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President David
Adeang, 10 April.
President Adeang welcomed Mr
Hierden who was on island for a week to meet with ministers and
other government officials.
President Adeang and Mr Hierden
discussed climate financing and the importance of the
multidimensional vulnerability index for Small Island Developing
States (SIDS).
Mr Hierden also called on the
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Lionel Aingimea, Minister
for Health Charmaine Scotty, the Department of ICT and the Asia
Development Bank office.
Holding residence in the Federated
States of Micronesia, Mr Hierden is responsible for program matters
in Nauru, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, and Palau.
