Minister Aingimea attends the 97th USP Council meeting
The Minister for Foreign Affairs
and Trade (DFAT) and Nauru's Special Envoy to USP Lionel Aingimea
attended the 97th University of the South Pacific (USP) Council
meeting in Vanuatu, 29-30 April.
The council meeting convened in
Port Vila welcomed heads of governments and ministries from the 12
USP member countries and donor partners from Australia and New
Zealand to deliberate on key issues.
Throughout the two day meeting,
reports and updates of USP activities were presented and members
engaged in discussions on relevant issues regarding the
university's strategic vision and its development in the regional
and broader context.
The Nauru delegation led by
Minister Aingimea included Deputy Minister for DFAT Russ Kun,
Secretary for the Department of Education and Training Darrina Kun
and USP-Nauru campus Acting Director Felicity Canon. //
