President Adeang tours Australian War Memorial, meets governor general and home affairs minister
As part of his visit to the
Australian Capital Territory, President David Adeang also visited
the Australian War Memorial, led by Acting Director Major General
Brian Dawson AM CSC, stopping at the Honour Roll before laying a
wreath at the grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Hall of Memory,
23 May.
The President was later officially
welcomed at Government House by Governor-General of the
Commonwealth of Australia, His Excellency the Honourable David
Hurley AC DSC (Retd).
Their Excellencies discussed the
historic and close relationship that Australia and Nauru enjoy, as
well as the shared history and deep personal connections we
share.
Following on from this was a
meeting with Australia's Minister for Home Affairs Clare O'Neil for
discussions centring on bilateral matters and strengthening the
relationship with Australia.
