Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The Department of Foreign Affairs
and Trade (DFAT) is charged with advancing the interests of Nauru
and its citizens abroad. In particular through its
headquarters in Nauru and its diplomatic missions abroad, is
responsible for communications to bilateral and multilateral
partners and to intergovernmental organisations on a range of
issues concerning diplomatic relations, treaties, development
projects and trade related issues,inter alia.
DFAT is organised into it
headquarters in Nauru and represented abroad by five diplomatic
missions. DFAT is headed by a Secretary and is responsible to
the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
