Appointment of Clerk
On Thursday 11 April 2013 the
Speaker of Parliament appointed Ann-Marie Thoma as Clerk of
Parliament.
Ann-Marie joined the Parliament
Office in 2010 as the Executive Secretary for the Members of
Parliament. In 2012 she became the Assistant Clerk and then in 2013
Acting Clerk. Before joining the Parliament team she undertook
accounting work and work in ticketing and reservations for Air
Nauru.
Ann-Marie is proud to follow in the
footsteps of Freddy Cain, longest serving Clerk of Parliament,
and is looking forward to working with the hansard and
other staff in supporting the Speaker and the work of
Parliament.
