The Secretariat section consists of the following offices:
- Office of the Secretary for Justice and Border Control,
- Solicitor General,
- Senior Government Lawyers,
- Principle Legal Officer,
- Legislative Drafter,
- Public Defender/Legal Aid,
- Financial Intelligence Unit,
- Curator of Intestate Estate
- Office of the Registrar of Corporations.
- Registrar of Businesses, and
- Registrar of Motor Vehicles
The above offices report to the Solicitor General who reports
directly to the Secretary for Justice on a daily basis.
A significant and new role of the Secretary for Justice and
Border control is refugee status determinations (RSD) under
theRefugee Conventions Act 2012.(link to RSD page -text below)
