Learning and Development Unit
Superintendent Learning and Development
Gregor Garoa
The Nauru Police Force Learning and Development Unit provides
capacity building through its training modules across the entire
NPF organisation. Operations are based at the Police Training
Centre (PTC) at Aiwo.
We ensure that each member, under each respective portfolio, is
well-trained and equipped with the skills they need to perform
their duties as professional law enforcers and keepers of the peace
in Nauru.
In 2020, Nauru Police Force Learning & Development Unit
updated its training packages, aligning all training materials with
current legislation, including the Motor Traffic Act 2014,
Cybercrime Act 2015, Nauru Crimes Act 2016, Child Protection and
Welfare Act 2016, Naoero Roads Act 2017 and the Bail Act 2018.
The Learning & Development Unit continues to be actively
engaged with our partner agencies both nationally and
internationally to offer training opportunities to our members
which then improve our Policing service delivery and benefit our
clients - the people of Nauru.
Within Learning and Development are two Inspectors in Charge;
Inspector Learning and Development, conducting curriculum work, as
well as Police recruitment and Required Fitness Level (RFL)
training and testing. Inspector Ceremonial oversees the Nauru
Police Force Brass Band, school-based Cadets program and
Adopt-A-Cop.
